This assignment gives a general insight to my job role and responsibilities including successes and focuses on that I have gained in my own post so far regarding child safeguarding and proceeds working towards within the pre-school i am currently employed by and signify.
Showing consciousness and understanding of working together with other outside the house organisations, services and options that can hook up daily to the kids and pre-school environment. Demonstrate my knowledge and the importance of safeguarding pursuing government definitions and guidelines that all professionals working with children, young people and families adhere to so that child protection is the priority achieved.
As a pre-school staff member my role is to nurture, train and care for children aged 3-5 years in a pre-school setting up either separately or in a group. My job explanation is to ensure children are safe and well looked after so they develop and are activated by age-appropriate activities in a safe ideal environment. Although childcare personnel are not professors we might encourage and teach basic skills to children such as interpersonal and interaction skills such as taking changes and sharing toys and games and hygiene steps like flushing the toilet and then cleaning hands.
In the pre-school we are organised to focus on the whole as a team with each team member having a deligated role for example one called person for first aid, or health and security, or child safeguarding. Although all staff are required to have Criminal Record Bureau checks, qualifications and regular modified training in all of these areas of child care to create good quality daily educated practice in the pre-school environment.
Pre-school introduces children into learning for preparation starting school, many outside firms integrates with/along aspect pre-school environments such as military welfare services, health services, local cops, local primary colleges, ofsted, talk therapists this is merely a few.
To achieve the best out of my role as pre-school staff member it is important that I am monitored well and feel supported separately and within my team, and resources can be found to attend regular training and courses. Enabling me to maintain to date with policies, techniques and requirements relevant and required to use children. Training such as safeguarding children benefits and reinforces the necessary skills and knowledge to recognize, respond to signs and symptoms of children experiencing mistreatment at the same time being alert and responding correctly and proficiently to all possible concerns and potential issues.
In a discussion by T G throughout a safeguarding children program it was mentioned that the government provides definitions to guide all professionals dealing with children teenagers and their families to identify when there are serious causes for concerns about children they are:
Physical causing damage also contains unexplained or
Fabricating symptoms of or inconsistent
Deliberately induces disease in a kid explanation of
Emotional constant psychological maltreatment low self-esteem
Of child such as to cause severe and
Persistent undesireable effects on emotional
Neglect persistent failure to meet a child's basic insufficient care -
Needs literally and/or psychologically inadequate
Sexual forcing, appealing, involving a child to unusual
Participate in sexual activities including difficulty
Viewing imagery also motivating in walking
Inappropriate sexual behaviour from a or sitting

"The government guidelines, working along to safeguard children (1999),
Divide child maltreatment into four neat categories - intimate, physical, and emotional
And neglectful- but in reality a lot of this overlap. With any form of abuse
There will be emotional maltreatment too, although this may occur alone. "

"Posting information is for the purpose of safeguarding and
Promoting the welfare of children, showing information amongst
Practitioners working with children and people are crucial. In
Many cases it is merely when information from a range of sources
Is come up with a child is seen to be in need or at risk
Of harm. Failing to pass on information that may prevent a
Tragedy could expose anyone to criticism. "

Effective practice uses consciousness and fully knows the importance of showing concerns and information. We cannot afford to dismiss indications at a risk of showing foolish or alarmist, daily my role can identify young families with needs that result a child's wellbeing, armed forces children will be the majority at the pre-school, the problems that occur from mother or father/carer that can be isolated from family and friends by military postings, soldier spouses tend to be absent anticipated to active tasks or training. So a father or mother/carer could be experiencing issues such as financial problems, insufficient support, concerned about the wellness of partner on active duty for case in Afghanistan, these issues interconnects among everyone unit. So having the knowledge you are better prepared to pay attention hard and notice carefully the behaviours between child and father or mother/carer and aware of recognise signs or symptoms an example could range between insufficient parenting to improper clothing for season of the entire year, could show problems and a dependence on help, there are services that may offer support and assist the parents capacity to caution better for children before a situation gets beyond control but a whole lot of parent/carers feel ashamed, ashamed, inhibited or simply just don't know how to access this help.
"Rather than intervening early on and effectively, battling local authorities
Wait until children are in turmoil, then respond reluctantly, half-heartedly
And ineffectively, it's not their mistake. The financing systems are designed
In such away. "

In a chat on safeguarding children 6 November 2009 it was explained and stated
"If any support businesses were contacted straight by the family or referenced by
Their family GP at the demand of the family for support, the agencies
Assess the needs of the child through a standard Assessment
Framework (CAF) and this means that everyone involved such as
Pre-school employee, health visitor, officer, social personnel use
This construction to interact and support the kid and this child
Receives the right support at an early level before their needs rises. "
Daily I can work strongly with individual children, so there is opportunity and time to build up a marriage of trust presenting a child an beginning to speak, some children may not tell you, you might imagine even been led by them to read between the lines. This is where knowledge and techniques are of key importance, so that you listen to the child and prevent any leading questions, being careful never to offend, intimidate the child or the situation as this could be the first and last attempt for a child needing to trust someone to disclose what may be occurring to them in the wish of help, I would then
Reassure the kid the best I could and then clarify as simply as I can therefore the child realizes that the things said would have to be offered to pre-schools supervisor as they will know best what to do. If a disclosure was made, I'd then need to follow the pre-school options policies and procedures we've in place
