Funding For Space Exploration Idea Essay

July 20, 1969, Commander Neil Armstrong can take the first steps on the moon. All it required was 170 billion dollars in todays money to place a guy on the moon. Mankind does not need to explore beyond the moon. Neil Armstrong once said "This is one small step for man, one huge leap for mankind. " Ignore giant leaps for mankind, NASA is a huge machine for spending money. This fact is supported by the humiliating failing of the Orbiting Carbon Observatory, a $278 million package deal which blasted faraway from Vandenberg air push (DeGroot 2). Taking into consideration the arrears that America challenges with in right now, NASA and space exploration is not the primary priority. The United States government uses an excess of funds to explore space in an attempt to find other kinds of intelligent life, they use too much tax money that may be put to raised use, and many of the astronauts are at risk anticipated to real human spaceflight.

A large part of tax-payer money would go to NASA in order to attempt to explore the unknown of space. Much of the amount of money that NASA wastes on space exploration could be put to a much better and profitable use. AMERICA government must give attention to recovering their own entire world before they discover others. Money that would go to NASA causes the national debt to increase. Instead, that money should go towards paying down your debt, or even mending issues with unemployment. Back the 1960's, when likely to put the first man on the moon, "58% of People in the usa compared spending the predicted $40 billion - or typically about $225 per person - necessary to send a person to the moon. Only another supported the program" (Nasa Money n. pag. ). Lots of the United States people opposed the program because they realized that it will not be our main goal and it is a very massive amount money. The residents were experienced of how all of that money could profit the country. In 2004, "President Bush presented Congress with a $2. 4 trillion budget blueprint for the 2005 fiscal calendar year" (Nasa Financing n. pag. ). The cover the 2005 year can be an extreme amount and there is to explore the depth of space when humans hardly know their own entire world. A massive amount of the Earth remains undiscovered gives no reason to stress about space. Given the knowledge that humans have, there could exist nothing at all in space besides stones and meteors. Globe is possible the only entire world that sustains brilliant life. Researchers have looked the huge emptiness of space since the first moon getting in the 1960's. Although, "in 40 years of looking, we have found no such signal. In 1967, we thought we had one, but that turned out to be the entirely natural signal of an pulsar" (Murray 2). Believe that NASA's scientists continue searching and lastly reach their goal of discovering sensible life 200 years in to the future. A lot more than $8 trillion will have eliminated toward that goal by the drastic rises of NASA's gross annual budget from the years 2003 to 2009 (Time for the moon n. pag. ). However, brilliant life may not even exist on other planets, so all the effort and money goes to squander if NASA does not find any aliens. In Dec of 1993, NASA embarrassingly delivered astronauts into orbit to correct the Hubble, which cost taxpayers and further $629 million. For this reason incident, NASA was put to blame for their incompetence and using billions in federal money without accountability (Nasa Funding n. pag. ). NASA has the ability to just soak up federal money and taxes money to fix their mindless problems.

The plans of the space program to send men into space may endanger their well-being. Globe is a perfect habitat for mankind, gives humans no reason to leave. Margaret Haerens writes, "Pets or animals never leave a comfortable habitat for a tough one, unless they are obligated to" (Haerens 2). Haerens compares the astronauts to animals and the way the astronauts should not leave Earth when they are correctly find where they are simply. Space can eliminate humans very quickly with out a spacesuit. Astronauts willingly put themselves into space where they know if anything goes wrong they will perish instantly. Haerens also creates that, "Our vertebrate ancestors did not come ashore vast sums of years ago because they decided to boldly go where no seafood had gone before" (Haerens 2). The author says that the contest to the moon and outer space is foolish and because an area hasn't been explored does not imply that someone should explore the area, which relates back again to how in dynamics, pets or animals never leave a favorable environment for a poor one. The actual fact that the occurrence in space negatively impacts our body reinforces why humans should not leave Earth. Scientists have learned that "prolonged weightlessness does indeed terrible things to the bones and circulatory system. If God wanted us to live in space, we wouldn't have managing systems inside our inner ears" (Haerens 2). Humans have evolved and modified to live on Globe, if humans were designed to live in space, they might have adapted to suit the severe conditions of space. Iain Murray creates that alien life is completely mysterious to the human race and humans do not know what aliens are capable of. Aliens may have the potential to completely clean humans off the face of the planet earth (Murray 1). If aliens actually can be found, no one is aware of what they have the ability to do. They may be very powerful and dominate humans and imperialize the earth, Globe. Although, aliens may be able to assist humans with space travel if we ever encounter them.

However, there are many reasons that support space exploration, such as the threat of mass extinction that happens on the planet forcing humans to migrate to other planets. Regarding a mass extinction, humans must find an idea B in order to survive. Haerens talks about the likelihood that the human race must move from Earth to avoid a mass extinction. Possibly, in 500 million years, sunlight may slowly boil the oceans and incinerate the Earth. Natural disasters aren't the only possibility for a mass extinction, other epidemics such as local climate change and overpopulation can also cause mass extinctions. Haerens also creates that the probability of an epidemic of such colossal size that this can cause a mass extinction are rather low. However, an asteroid of sufficient size could cause the extinction of humans as it have the dinosaurs (Haerens 3). Earth may soon become over filled with humans; therefore, the people must find other planets to be sure that mankind will live on. Jerry DeGroot records that Stephen Hawking has argued about how precisely the human race must colonize other planets to ensure mankind's long-term survival. The Earth is indeed doomed, but where will all the civilians go? When comparing Mars to Antarctica, Antarctica seems like a paradise (DeGroot 2). It seems logical to wish to colonize other planets since if the people becomes extinct, all of man's achievements and accomplishments over time would be gone. Space travel has a high chance of going on, humans will eventually figure out how to harness the power of space as the cavemen learned how to harness the power of open fire. Enthusiastic followers of the space exploration dispute that exploring outer space is the next step in human progression. Scientists assume that the colonization of other planets, beginning with the moon, should become a long-term human goal. Scientist also argue that colonizing the moon helps humans learn how to go on Mars by learning how to live with conditions of the moon first (Returning to the Moon n. pag. ). One day a damaging event will happen to the Earth and change the course of life in support of space colonization can save it.

Although space exploration can greatly advantage the progression of mankind, it depletes a huge part America's resources and cash. Instead of humans looking for intelligent life, they ought to leave them to find us. The billions of dollars that are used each year to invest in space exploration could greatly improve everyday activity on planet Earth. The American government cash NASA with a plethora of profit order to allow them to discover the anonymous of the world and much of the money originates from tax-payers. Also, the astronauts face the outside dangers of space which put them in dangerous situations. Perhaps, 1 day, once Globe has achieved a utopic state, humans can fund a space program that will quickly realize extraterrestrial beings.
