Values are benchmarks and principals where we live our lives. These criteria are many and frequently depend on people`s qualifications e. g. Culture, category, religion, gender, era. Values are extremely individual behaviour that immediate people`s responses to the planet around them. Amongst a few of the ideals I live my life by and value are personal privacy allowing me to obtain space to myself and respecting the actual fact that others may desire privateness, to be safe and also allowing others the same, having do it yourself respect, being honest, being non judgmental, being anti discriminatory, respect life and faith, value independence and equality, value choice as well as others things of view. I have learned to reside in my entire life this way from my parents and their own families. The institutions and chapel where I had been educated, espoused the values of human being dignity, solidarity for the normal good, charity in truth, and the family, most of which I continue to keep dear. I therefore make an effort to ensure i treat people just how I would like to be cared for. Because of these ideals, I am in a position to work happily alongside the business I volunteer for, as their insurance policies and procedures symbolize several common ideals.
I currently volunteer as a Befriender for a group that helps adults with learning disabilities become included within the community through socialization, by corresponding Befriendees with supportive Befrienders.
I, as a volunteer for this firm, provide their service individuals with the opportunity to have a full and satisfying part in their community. I also help to raise awareness of issues affecting men and women with learning troubles in community participation. I did so this in a major way by taking part in the collection and display of the petition to the Scottish Parliament to ask that Befriending is financed with key funding. Although Befriending, to help sociable inclusion was briefly mentioned as a means of supporting parents with learning disabilities in "Same as you Strategy"2000, this information hasn't been defined by the federal government as a core service to be provided by councils. As a result, Befriending for Adults with Learning Disabilities has seldom been financed or supplied by statutory services. However, the interpersonal work division is the main means of referral to our firm therefore for as soon as acquire this service free, financed by charitable donations. I feel this is a kind of statutory discrimination against our client group and desire our petition resolves this situation. This petition has received a confident response from the petitions committee and continues to be going through the committee functions. I also receive sustained training, support, and supervision and engage in partnership working with relevant businesses.
The primary values of our company are underpinned by:
National Care Standards
, that have been set up under the
Regulation of Health care (Scotland) Act 2001
. This Act came about to modify the attention and social employees and set out the principals of proper care practice.
The Care Commission
was set up under this Act to register, control, and check all care services posted in the Act. In addition, it established
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
The SSSC has seeks and objectives to protect the service users, raise benchmarks, strengthen, and support labor force professionalism. You can find six main requirements laid down in Country wide Care Criteria that are at the centre of any care and attention practice.
"making someone feel valuable and impressive" as defined in the Oxford English Dictionary. I ensure that we give dignity by respecting individuals for who they are. I recognise all individuals are different and I am delicate and aware of this.
Privacy and confidentiality
is the need and to privacy. The concept of confidentiality between me and the service customer is made on mutual esteem and trust. Confidentiality is further strengthened by the
Data Safety Act 1998
. This enables our service users to see any information that is performed to them.
I must ensure that information is performed firmly in a locked filing case. Any information I write in an activity plan must be truthful, factual, and correct with my opinions to be objective.
means giving and explaining different options to individuals. I support our service users by pushing their right to choose. By offering they limited options that will encourage them to check out positive alternatives within the protected climate.
means that I have to ensure my service consumer when in my own care, is secured from damage and abuse. EASILY suspect or discover that harm and abuse has or is occurring, against something user, I must report the occurrence in an Event Report Form within 36 hrs of the event to my line director. I also complete a risk assessment form before any activity.

These primary values are symbolized within our organisations insurance policies and procedures. To make sure client

Our business opposes all varieties of unfair and unlawful discrimination on the grounds of colour, race, religious beliefs, nationality, social backdrop, gender, erotic orientation, marital status, age and impairment. It also encourages the theory of similar opportunities in paid work, voluntary work, and service provision.
Although it is important to use positive values within my practice, it may also be difficult to do so. Supplying someone choice needs to be balanced by making certain this choice is safe and positive. Offering Individuals with Learning Disabilities way too many options can cause bafflement and sometimes fear. So I give limited positive options to ensure that this does not happen. Basic safety issues can also limit selections, as under the

National Treatment Standards
it is important that I ensure my client is safe from damage and abuse. If a risk assessment implies that a task is not appropriate to the client because of basic safety issues then the selection of doing that one activity is reduced. Privateness and confidentiality is handled in our
Our business requires information about clients, volunteers, personnel other organizations and our own corporation. I am therefore focused on making certain all information is stored safely which also allows appropriate retrieval. Private material must be maintained in a locked cabinet. Volunteers are only able to see data files "over a need to know basis only".
Computer access is limited to authorized personnel and information supported and suitable with

If a client discloses something if you ask me and asks me not to tell anyone i quickly must respect his/her desires as a matter of trust. However, sometimes this is difficult, particularly if mistreatment is disclosed. Under these circumstances I am appreciated to share with him/her that I am aware his/her need for confidentiality, however the circumstances require me to advise my line administrator in writing and that this will be in his/her best interests and to try not to get worried.
As we do not source a health care service, we are not required to enroll with the Treatment Commission, but we ensure all our procedures and procedures meet their standards. As all clients under these expectations are legitimately allowed an individualized attention plan, we instead have a task plan. To ensure no discrimination takes place the client is assessed using (Ref1)

needs. Needs were first described as requirements for our success in the model submit by (
, a Humanist Psychologist. He explained that human needs can be set up in a stepladder pyramid and this the lower level needs must be satisfied before higher levels can be met. Starting from the basic emotional need, then moving to safety and security, sociable, esteem, and self- actualization.
He suggested that not satisfying these needs the person could become frustrated and emotionally distressed, with possibly poverty and turmoil occurring. He also advised that these needs be found to be able.
Prejudice as (
defined in the Collins dictionary "can be an unreasonable dislike of a particular group of folks or things, or a inclination for a one group of individuals or things over another". Prejudice is caused by a lack of understanding of something, causing the incorrect impression to be created. Dealing with people who have learning disabilities has shown me that prejudice arises amongst several of the neighborhood community. This is a small section of the city pre- judging people that have learning disabilities through lack of knowledge and they also keep unfavourable views or thoughts towards individuals who are different therefore bullying may take place. Individuals with learning disabilities are a portion of society that seems not to be able to operate for themselves. They count on family, cultural workers, advocacy workers, and support personnel to guide them on their rights, selections, and responsibilities. Alas, through no problem of their own, some parts of this community might not acquire this relevant information.
They do not have the treatment, benefits, and advice that they want, or they don't receive the statutory services they are entitled to. This is brought on by certain people denying our customer group their privileges therefore discriminate against them. Harassment, bullying and hate offences of these with learning disabilities takes place in many areas, the recent death of a mom and daughter used up to fatality in Britain after numerous risks and harassment can be an abnormal example and consequence of discrimination. Discrimination occurs through fear, misunderstanding, misinformation, therefore as well as regulations against discrimination, we need to educate and offer training against it. To try to ensure that the incident that occurred will not happen inside our community, our organization is involved in providing a training service to the community.
I took part in training to attempt to inform youths from the neighborhood secondary college about
Learning Disabilities. This resulted in them becoming peer volunteers to youngsters with Learning Disabilities from the neighborhood college for autistic children. A group was create to bring both of these groups of children together, with positive results.
) People with Learning Disabilities are more likely to develop health problems. Therefore, without support, they may not be able to make their emotions known and so verification and or treatment may be refused. The need for support to allow them to lead as normal a life as their capabilities allow also to access services, has a financial cost to contemporary society. The belief that individuals with learning disabilities, are a financial burden to society, and not providing relevant support is proof discrimination
The impact of discrimination on my consumer group can cause exclusion and marginalization. Psychologically that can cause depression, low self applied- esteem, stress, or anger. Creating their action to be influenced, by them becoming withdrawn or violent.
Through legislation, sociable care organizations now have to become more accountable and also have increasing responsibilities to create and maintain insurance plan and steps. These have to adhere to current legislation and are present to protect people`s protection under the law and ensure quality services are provided. Our guidelines and procedures will need to have specific rules, for example, they cover confidentiality and personal privacy, equal opportunities, health insurance and safety, abuse guidelines, lone working methods, activity planning and reviews and risk evaluation and management.
I have a responsibility to read the organizations coverage and procedures carefully and incorporate them into my practice. I should query any uncertainties and report any infringements. EASILY am uneasy about the practice of others within the business or within every other agency I come into contact with, I must report to my line administrator and seek advice. My administrator has a responsibility to produce these regulations and procedures guaranteeing they integrate current legislation. Management means that personnel and service users have quick access to them. Dialogue and reflection of insurance policies and steps to ensure they may be justified and explained to staff is inspired.
