I am very happy to be one of your candidates and also to write this personal statement to the best of my knowledge and capability. I've graduated from Bahir Dar University or college on July6 /2007. It is evident that my pre-university academics background have been outstanding on the average. My Senior high school and Preparatory school certificates and ADVANCED SCHOOLING Entrance Examination Leaving are tangible testimony to the reality; where I were able to score 369 out of 500 that was the first level from social knowledge students at Preparatory Institution to join college or university. Joining the university, I could manage to maintain an outstanding academics performance and graduated with Great Distinction (CGPA of 3. 91 out of 4. 00) in Bachelor of Arts from Bahir Dar University. It was the second best grade among Business and Economics Faculty graduates of the College or university in the entire year 2007.
Currently I am working as an Associate Graduate I in the Team of Economics, School of Gondar. Hence I've various academic responsibilities which range from lecturing at category to advising research documents.
I am providing different classes including Quantitative methods for Economists, Econometrics, Development Economics I and Micro Economics I for a complete of 600 students in different batches and programs. Furthermore i am seeking to publish different financial articles on Development Economics in the university's quarterly journal. In addition I am trying to attempt Research with PhDs at our office.
Though I have keen desire for Economics and other developmental studies of sociable Technology I am fond of the wonder of Maths. Within my undergraduate studentship, I had keen involvement in figures, mathematics and calculus, my undergraduate ratings for six successive semesters are excellent verification (Do not hesitate to go through my educational transcript!). Furthermore I've applied econometric models for my mature article entitled "Does foreign Aid Work in the Ethiopian Current economic climate?. This got exposed a door for me personally to see the request of quantitative and econometric knowledge on handling different communal problems through research. It was with these in mind that I focused on trying to get your Grasp Program in QEM.
Apart from my educational life, I have been involved in the pursuing different community services since High school. I have offered my College or university as a Task creator and Implementer of one of its Actions, Anti-HIV/Supports Movement. Besides I had been also the founding member and the first Leader of Bahir Dar College or university Economics Students Connection (ECOSA). Similarly, i have already been an active participant and facilitator in different trainings and Workshops in various towns of Ethiopia. I've given Life Skills Training for about 500 University Students within my stay at Bahir Dar College or university. I have also given this training for about 300 out-of-school Youths in Amhara region of Ethiopia.
In addition, I have taken different permanent classes including "Youth Life at the Cross Highways" for Ten Months, Management and Control" training for 2 Calendar months and other short-term trainings on Counseling, Club Management, Peer Education, Reproductive Health, Family Life Education, Gender, Family Planning, Economic Relevance of Nile River, Globalization, Federalism and Democracy in Ethiopia, Theology Courses Etc
If I happen to get the chance to major in Models and Ways of Quantitative Economics (QEM) Contributing to the technology, and Understanding of my students will be my ultimate job goal.
Besides I'll continue Lecturing within my Present employee, School of Gondar. I am going to make an effort to help my students and my country in a way that is influential in providing some tangible changes at the school and country level as i am going to use my interpersonal, communication and interpersonal skills after i came back home from the study. I would like to work my postgraduate degree as quickly as possible and i want to contribute my better to my country and also to the producing world as a whole even as (citizens of growing countries) are liable to bring our countries from the bottom and contribute our best for the betterment of the world.
