A school trip to France and the outcomes

>Have you ever went on a vacation and never wanted to come back? I traveled to France in June of 2010, and it was the most beautiful place I have ever been to. I went with my high school French course and we needed along eighteen students and six parents. We went to beautiful villages, towering cathedrals, and majestic palaces. This trip forever changed just how which i view the world, I became aware that there surely is so much more to the earth than our country, and that beautiful places await us just a place drive away.

Our journey started out in our senior high school parking great deal where we loaded our bags and took a 4 hour bus ride to Washington D. C. , once in the D. C. air-port we sat in the international airport for several hours until it was time for our planes to commence boarding. We boarded our plane and required our seating, the flight attendants instructed us on safety measures and we then waited for our plane to get started its trip to France. The pilot arrived in the intercom and educated us that people would now get started our ascension. The planes was soon speeding down the runway, and I had been pushed back to my seating, and then we were in the air, I felt my stomach lift up as we remaining the ground and I knew that the next time I step on earth, I would be in France.

Our plane trip was boring and uneventful, filled with many films and distressing food. We started out our descent and soon arrived at the Air-port just beyond Paris, though this is not our final vacation spot. We then acquired off of the plane and prolonged to your next plane that would take us into the south of France, to Nice. We again waited in an airport for several time until boarding time, once on the plane or more in the air, I understood that France is beautiful, they have picture perfect scenery and farmland as far as I could see. This plane ride would be only one. 5 hours long, only a fraction of the 8 hour flight to get to Paris. Once we were near Nice, I searched out the windowpane and found the most picturesque scenery I had ever seen, We were looking over the MEDITERRANEAN AND BEYOND, this particular was a gorgeous turquoise blue and sunlight defeat down onto this particular so that it is shimmer such as a sapphire. Once on the floor and our luggage retrieved, we acquired on the bus and drove to our hotel, the hotel was small, but quaint, and it believed like home. Later that day we went to the beach and laid in sunlight and water all night, from then on we travelled shopping throughout the city for souvenirs. We put in three days and nights in Nice, it was a laidback city, and there was not much too do, however it is still the most beautiful place I've ever visited.

After out three times in Nice, we received on yet another bus, for a fourteen hour bus drive to metropolis of Tours. When we arrived in Travels we checked out into our hotel and I got my daily breakfast of orange drink and a croissant. After breakfast time we got on another bus and traveled for an hour to the Loire Valley, where almost all of the castles and palaces are positioned in France. We first went to the ChЇїЅteau of Chenonceau, a stunning castle situated over a river. After walking down an extended path with high trees lining the street, we emerged at the front end door of a gorgeous white natural stone castle, complete with two gardens, and a hedge maze. After out visit at Chenonceau we went to the ChЇїЅteau of Chambord, an enormous 16th hundred years castle, rumored to be designed be Leonardo da Vinci, this castle as a wonderful double-helix spiral staircase that winds completely up to the roof covering. On the top you can view forest landscapes or analyze the structures of the building closer. Once we were done at Chambord we visited the Chartres Cathedral, which is known as one of the finest examples of gothic architecture in all of France. Inside the cathedral we climbed the many hundreds of stairs to the topmost tower, which also provided us with a closer view of the fantastic little bit of structures. The stained cup windows are Chartres are among the best in the world, which are recognized for their stunning blue color. Upon viewing the blue, I used to be immediately transfixed and strolled around evaluating each window until I completed. After leaving Chartres we went back to Tours and got ourselves a essential night of sleeping.

After getting on yet another bus, we then moved on the walled city of St. Malo. We didn't reach do much in this city even as we arrived in the first evening hours. During World War II almost the entire city was damaged, however the townspeople wished to rebuild plus they did so, they rebuilt it the same way as it was originally built, so this city was essentially built double.

After our night time in St. Malo we journeyed to Normandy. We toured the Normandy museum and then visited the North american Memorial on the beaches. The memorial was extremely emotional, but serene at the same time. While on the beaches I dreamed the carnage that took place where I stood. I could not assume that just 70 years before the sand and water was stained red with blood and their were a large number of body laying on the beach. As I walked surrounding the memorial I seemed after the cemetery and observed the thousands of individuals that fought and died on the fateful day. While walking through the cemetery I noticed one tombstone with a Jewish star on top rather than a cross, I instantly felt a overflow of emotion, I thought that while Hitler was killing so many Jewish, the Jewish were preventing and dying for the United States, I will forever remember that image and will always be thankful for what the soldiers have done for us.

We then returned to St. Malo for another night of sleep and another morning commenced our journey to Paris, the town of lights. When we entered the town we immediately went to our hotel and then visited dinner. We'd meal at Chez Clement, which is situated steps away from the Arc de Triomphe. After out meal we went in to the Arc and proceeded to go up just one more endless airline flight of steps until we reached the top. At the top of the Arc we noticed a panoramic view of the Paris, the Eiffel Tower glowing the distance, and Parisian nightlife beginning. Every evening on the hour the Eiffel Tower sparkles, a large number of blue lights illuminate and last for just one minute, while at the Arc we witnessed this. It is without a doubt one of the very most beautiful things I'll ever see. I packed me with pleasure and at that moment I knew i never wanted to leave the united states.

During our following day in Paris we went to the ChЇїЅteau of. First each day we took a forty minute bus ride to Versailles and started our tour of the building. The building was the most intricate thing I have ever seen, it was dripping in gleaming silver, and shimmering crystal. The walls were lined with expensive silks and priceless tapestries. Although this Palace has a gorgeous appearance, it has a dark record. Versailles is the palace where Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV lived, an upset mob descended upon the Palace and had taken the royal family to Paris, where many years later wiped out them. Despite the fact that the building itself was large it got even greater more luxurious gardens that stretched miles. It has several fountains which all were running while I was there. While sitting on the steps seeing the fountains I thought everyday life within the 18th hundred years, what it might be prefer to live there, to walk around the gardens at a leisurely pace and not have a good care on earth. Versailles is and forever will be the most gorgeous building I have ever visited. Not only due to its expensive dЇїЅcor, but also because it is a supreme exemplory case of architecture and a fantastic exemplory case of traditional French gardens.

After our visit to Versailles we went back to Paris and toured the Louvre Museum. On the Louvre Museum we walked through the wonderful goblet pyramid and immersed ourselves into a building filled with gorgeous pieces of art and rich in history. The very first thing I wished to go and find out was the Winged Triumph of Samothrace, it is another century BC marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike, if you ask me it is one of the very most beautiful sculptures in the whole world, and it surprised me that something so perfect could be created without the modern technology. The one other sculpture that can rival the Winged Win of Samothrace is the Venus de Milo, which is where I visited next. The Venus de Milo is probably the most well-known sculpture on the globe, most people can realize the armless shape. The Venus de Milo is a fantastic exemplory case of Greek sculpture at its finest, and can forever influence the globe as we know it. The highlight of my head to of the Louvre is that of the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa colored by Leonardo da Vinci in the first 16th century, it's the most famous painting the in planet and also one of the most visited. The Mona Lisa, if you ask me it an excellent painting, and will forever continue to influence artists across the world, and also continue being a major icon of the world also.

On our previous day in France we loaded our things and visited the airport terminal and began the long and boring journey home to america. I got extremely disappointed about leaving and wanted to extend my stay permanently. I learned a great deal on my vacation, some of which I would not be able to learn without having to be in the country, and I am hoping to return often in the future. Also, the trip offered me a complete new perceptive on the world, and taught me to look at the details in things and not merely what they look like. From the locations, to the churches, and even the castles, France made we want to find out about art and structures, and specifically the renaissance works, it also made me realize that no matter what country you live in, you can always find a masterpiece.
