Compare Henry Vii And Henry Viii Record Essay

King Henry the VIII and King Henry the VII were both very important people in English history. King Henry the VII reined from 1485 until 1509 while Ruler Henry the VII got the throne from his dad in 1509 and was king until 1547, when he passed on of a serious illness. Both kings were both infamous in some ways, but the question is: who was simply a better king?

King Henry the VIII and King Henry the VII were both Catholic however, many consider King Henry the VIII a Protestant. However, the two kings obviously made contributions to the cathedral and had the right ties with the cathedral. In 1539, there was a considerable change in Bible record as Ruler Henry the VIII translated the bible from Latin into English. This implies that Ruler Henry VIII was endeavoring to help citizens who had difficulty in reading Latin but wanted to learn the term of God. Not merely did he translate the Bible into English, but Ruler Henry the VIII also funded the complete venture. Unfortunately, there were significant changes in 1531 when Henry the VIII became the top of the Cathedral. Henry was wanted the chapel for a divorce from Catherine of Aragon however the pope refused. This made Henry the VIII so furious, that he closed down many monasteries, required the money of several monks and nuns and needed control of the churches of Great britain. Alternatively, church relations with Henry the VII were much friendlier. Ruler Henry the VII was a very religious man and he did not cause much trouble for the churches. He built many churches, including a chapel in Westminster. Although Ruler Henry the VIII made the right contributions to the churches overall, King Henry the VII experienced better relationships with the Church as Henry the VIII's proceed to close many monasteries and his taking control of the churches in England had adverse effects ties with the Catholic Cathedral in Rome.

Money was a large issue for both kings; these were almost broke. Ruler Henry the VII tackled the situation by heavily taxing rich barons. He also issued many fines to get money. This is a tactical but a sneaky way of increasing his income. Ruler Henry the VII spent a fair amount of his money on building churches unlike Ruler Henry the VIII who spent it foolishly. King Henry the III put in a lot of his 1. 25 million pound allowance from his daddy by himself luxury and building many unneeded palaces. King Henry VIII's luxuries included, twenty-four course dishes, servants to clean his back, running tournaments for his entertainment. Warfare and King Henry the VIII's major ambitions in Europe also dragged down his money by the mid-1520s. He put in money on increasing the quantity of naval boats from 5 to 53. He also deployed 25000 men to France for conflict. Moneywise, King Henry the VII was frugal and careful with money. However, King Henry the VIII was much more self-centered as most of his spending was unacceptable and didn't benefit Great britain much.

King Henry the VII and Ruler Henry the VIII both feared being invaded by international countries. Both kings were required to create a positive relation with overseas countries if they wished to maintain their credibility and protect their country. However they both used different strategies. France was the closest country to Britain but also the biggest threat for King Henry the VII. France got three times the manpower and source of information of Britain and the People from france experienced shown their vitality after defeating Britain in the Struggle of Hastings in 1066. The English surely learnt their lesson than, and one of King Henry the VII's first responsibilities were to hint a one year truce with France that was later lengthened until1489. Spain was also a problem for Ruler Henry the VII. Spain was one of Europe's strongest countries and Ruler Henry the VII acquired to act quickly. He suggested a rushed matrimony for his eldest kid Arthur to Catherine of Aragon of Spain. This not only forged a good marriage with Spain, but also guaranteed an Englishmen to own vitality over Spain in the future. It had been different for Ruler Henry the VIII, as he had an excellent marriage with France initially, but later his greed triggered him to want to conquer France. In 1511, King Henry the VIII travelled to France to commemorate their companionship and serenity. The party included music, feasts and a firework spectacle at night. This step benefited England's protection and security from France as the French ruler and Henry the VIII were at serenity. However, relations turned sour in 1513, when King Henry VIII went to conflict against France. He wanted to get more income and show not only his country but Europe that he was the best king. The conflict was called the Fight of the Spurs. It had been successful but cost a huge sum of money. Henry the VIII was unwise to go to war with France as it broke the good relationships that they preciously distributed before. Although Ruler Henry the VII's son Arthur perished in 1501, Ruler Henry the VII still do his own part to secure good relations with the others of Europe. Foreign relationships were better for Henry the VII as he even long relationships to the Mediterranean, but his child only managed to make tranquility with France.

King Henry the VII and King Henry the VIII both made very important contributions to Britain like building churches, translating the Bible into British and building good ties with European countries. However, King Henry the VII was a much better ruler as he was smart, wise and far-sighted. He previously realistic goals which brought Great britain success, not only during his own reign but also shored up England's position in the modern world.
