People working within the caring career such as nurses, doctors, teachers, befrienders, flame and ambulance services, may incorporate counselling skills & techniques of their work places. However there's a difference between incorporating counselling skills in a workplace & being truly a qualified counsellor. The main difference between someone using counselling skills and a qualified and trained counsellor is that 'the counsellor is bound by the code of ethics and practice and carries a set of practisioners, we must be ensure the equality of opportunity for all(1)

A teacher may use counselling skills with conditions that come up within the class room whether that be something simple such as guiding students on career choices, mentoring, mental support, or even to a lot more serious issues, like a student is concerned about being pregnant or may be vulnerable from abuse at home. A tutor may incorporate interpersonal communication skills such as energetic hearing and empathy, being non-judgemental & supportive in order to resolve issues. In a counselling setting up Limitations are in placed into place to put together the relationship between your client and the counsellor. Confidentiality: Confidentiality is extremely important within a counselling setting up, as the counselling marriage is the one which is made on trust. Whatever a customer may disclosed in a counselling session is never discovered outside the procedure such as a client's name, address, or anything that may identify neither is the individuality of the client ever disclosed to anyone, not even a supervisor unless in extreme circumstances like a customer intends to damage themselves or others, in such circumstances the counsellor might need to break confidentiality by informing a G. P, or law enforcement officials, however, not before informing the client
Referral: A counsellor may send a customer when appropriate, usually when the counsellor feels they are not trained to cope with the clients specific issues, or when the partnership is not benefiting the client,
Supervisions: Counsellors are required to be supervised by various codes of ethics and practice, for example, BACP, Code of Ethics and Practice for Counsellors & are required to have regular supervision. Supervisors are their to provide support to the counsellors which maintains consumer & counsellor security. The superviser will liase eith the counsellor, to review work & discuss personal development &
