Nevertheless, it is necessary to state that as of this very second fashion has a deeper effect on the life span of men and women and own more than frivolous known reasons for its lifestyle. This essay investigated and looks at how identity influences our choice of clothing and how fashion has changed men and women perception of might know about appear to be and the press. To handle this issue the article will first look at identification and its connect to our choice of clothing. Furthermore, the essay will then look at body image and its link to fashion and then discuss how they have changed how we perceive we should appear to be and thirdly the hyperlink between media effect and its impact on fashion. Finally the article will provide both a poor and positive view of fashion on today young.

The clothes we wear say a whole lot about who our company is as a person and because of this it becomes a representation of his or her perception of them. In today's culture identity and how we perceive ourselves has a significant influence on everything we understand to be beauty. Fashion has a major effect on teenage females today and because of this interest teenage young ladies discover a way to form their identity. Today clothing has become an important part of self- realization of every person. Man, Alison & Banim, Maura ( 2000) argue that' women and teens today have a certain connection to their clothes and conducted research where they grouped them into three views of how women understand themselves; "The woman I want to be", "The girl I fear I possibly could be" and " The ladies I am the majority of enough time" '. A lot of women and young teens express their personality through clothes they wear and interpersonal images. Social activities such as Hip-Hop and rap have affected fashion tendencies and the priorities of individuals. Today young young adults and woman's personal information based on what type of social motion group they identify with whether rock culture or Hip-Hop. We dress relating from what group we classify ourselves in and that plays a huge part in the making of our own identity and makes up our style in fashion. Wilson, E( 1987) states that girls identify using what they wear as it generates a fresh look and new home and this allowed women to become more creative ( pg 317). Furthermore many women today have a certain degree of relationship with their clothing that allows them to be more creative and daring. Fashion has advanced a great deal that its constantly pushing the boundaries and its own placing yourself out there. This same theory is put on woman and teens today that are constantly placing themselves out there and shaping personality according from what organizations they identify with.

Body image performs a huge part today's contemporary society. The medias direct influence on women and men that culture benchmarks of body image are ideal. The usage of phrases such as slim is and prefect body are one of the many eye-catching headlines that are generally seen in woman's magazines. Because of this this coverage the thin ideal has lead the greater part of girls in triggering eating disorders, major depression and lack of low self-esteem. Hence media has a significantly growing effect on how female and girls understand their physiques and personalities today. The usage of provocative and inappropriate images of extremely underweight models in periodicals, tv set and music videos the marketing provide a distorted picture of an excellent woman's appearance. Willett, Rebekah (2008) conducted a report on 12-13 yr old young girls as they explore decision they made about body image. She argues that ladies today are unsatisfied using what they appear to be with what they want to appear to be that they compare themselves with the 'ideal image' (pg. 427). By promoting this ideal body the multimedia has a big contribution to eating disorders among junior. As a result many teens lack self-esteem and self-assurance.

Furthermore, press has completely re-defined that which you are designed to appear to be today, when curves were seen as the new ideal figure. Hence today when the new figure is ideal thin, you will not ever see a excess fat, big person advertising a beauty product or a clothing range. Taking a look at magazines today all you see is an excellent image of a slim female or model advertising a new assortment of clothing. Why can't the multimedia use all sizes of individuals in advertisement? This is because the press and the style industry promote the so call ideal image being the new self applied: what teenagers today perceive to end up like. Fashion magazines today see skinny models like the famous Kate Moss one of the world's top excellent model that presents the ideal perfect body image which many teens are aspiring to end up like. Consequently many of these teenagers fall into this trap and do not recognize that looking like their preferred model is unrealistic. This isn't only unrealistic but also a concern alone where many of these teenagers starve themselves which leads to eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia which also leads to depression. This impacts not only their mental state but also physically. Many teens hardly understand that the images they see in magazines of superstars, models are retouched before they may be printed out out, the clothes they wear are duct taped to improve fit, while many blemishes are protected or altered, that isn't all they remove two ins from their thighs and the common model weighs 23- 25 % less than any average woman. Therefore all of this is done to make an ideal or perfect body image that every young teenager aspires to appear to be. This impulse to be skinny leads many women to truly have a negative body image which causes many health issues such as eating disorders in order to accomplish their desire to have thinness. As a result the media carries a responsibility for how women and ladies perceive themselves as well as the individual of an complete opposite sex and how an ideal woman should appear to be. But what many young teenager and woman neglect to view it that beneath everything that thinness is placed self hesitation and low self esteem. Many teens neglect to notice that they way they may be whether excess fat or curvaceous they may be beautiful. However the influence of advertising has redefined beautiful as the slim and unattractive a being curvaceous. Therefore this negative use of media influence has brought on many young teenagers to research to the perfect image.
