The Trojan War, what little do we remember about it. I believe most bear in mind the infamous Trojan horses, or of the hero Achilles and Odysseus, the infamous stealing of Helen of Troy. As the Greeks told it; the struggle started up in heaven (or wherever Greek gods reside), with the marriage of a individual and god (some resources say it was two gods). Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, and Artemis all made a grab for the apple but cannot decide for who it belonged. Zeus purposed having a mortal in to the blend and he summoned Paris of Troy for he was the fairest in the land. Upon arrival each one of the goddesses promised him something, Paris travelled with Aphrodite: her incentive was the most amazing woman on earth: Helen of Troy.
This is where things begin to get somewhat hectic; Paris would go to Menelaus' palace and manages to woo Helen. There are many different versions of the tale: Menelaus remaining to attend a funeral on Crete and his partner went away with Paris, another Helen kept during the night with Paris in his chariot. Upon getting this bitter information, Menelaus and his sibling (brother-in-law in some myths) rallied the men of Greece to restore his lost honor and ruin Troy. Ironically enough, despite Troy being a sea-fearing interface they didn't have any navy. Instead, they allowed sailors to get refugee during the storms. The Trojan's assumed that their land military would be enough to prevent the Greeks plus they wouldn't normally have to struggle in the sea. During their vacations towards Troy, the Greeks infamously sacked several islands most to note is: Scyros where Achilles was hiding out in girl's clothing. Because of the navigation of that time, the Greeks actually arrived near Lemnos, on the incorrect part of the Aegean land, seventy-six miles away from Troy, they mistook these folks for the Trojans and attacked them. After settling their blunders, Ruler Telephus (seemingly healed by Achilles spear) advised the Greeks the best way to Troy.
Troy experienced many notable allies, here are some, Thrace and Macedon but most originated from Anatolian. The Trojans where able to gather up these allies (at heavy cost to Priam's wallet) while the Greeks set up a foothold in Lemnos. Once the Greeks finally still left Lemnos, they traveled along the beachheads of Troy desperately trying to find a place to make camp for the conflict. After some searching, they were in a position to find the right beachhead and land. A guy by the name of Priteslaus was the first Greek to touch the land and pass away. It is stated that the Greeks acquired this struggle and where in a position to setup their beachhead camp, which would be their main head office for the others of this battle.
With the first skirmish in it, Odysseus and Menelaus where sent out to hopefully affect a truce with the Trojan's getting Helen back again plus some treasure within the town. Achilles was famous during this time period, it has been mentioned that he damaged twenty-three places, and got on the raids (in some editions, he will this by himself in others he's accompanied by a platoon of men). No catalogs state that the Trojan's actually tried out to defend small cities which were destroyed. During this time period, the Greeks attacked the town of Thebes over Plakos, where Achilles killed the king but confirmed great esteem, the queen was ransomed back to Troy, but perished of a heart attack (or 'Artemis' Arrow'). The day remains again with a new struggle, the fight is pretty even on both factors until the Trojan's thrust the Greeks back again to their camp. Hera offers Agamemnon an improvement and he rallies his men to continue struggling with. Despite all the fatality that was going on around him and including his own charioteer, Hector cannot be killed. Night time fell once again and both sides returned to their camps. The Greeks try to win Achilles back with extravagant presents but he's not migrated and would only attack if Hector attacked his own boats. Odysseus and Diomedes attempt to spy upon the Troy encampment when they happen after a Trojan spy, they take him back again and he squeals just like a pig. They wiped out him after reading of an luxurious king, both hero's go to the king's camp and quickly eliminate him and twelve Trojan's, take his horses and had taken the king's clothing. The Trojan's could have done far more to dismantle the Greeks but didn't, the conflict was wearing about them as well. Their money was working low as was their food items given that they were extra cash to keep the favor of the allies.
The next struggle that is shown occupies almost half the Iliad to tell about. The struggle persisted on even footing with the Greeks gaining ground and then losing it just as quickly. They had fallen again and lots of the Greek champions were injured, Agamemnon, Odysseus, Diomedes, Eurypylus, and Machaon. If they fell back again to the wall surfaces, the Trojans where in a position to break through and by divine involvement, Hector can break the wall space with a simple stone put. In return for her services she made him inform what the Greek's ideas where. With exactly what had took place, Troy just wished the war to get rid of.

To make this work, the Greeks possessed sailed to the island of Teredos, that was about six nautical a long way from Troy. It had been there they tucked themselves away before signal fires blared. The Greek spies opened up the gates and the military charged into the location surprising the Trojan soldiers and burning the location to the ground.
When the city was discovered, apparent signs of fire littered the town, so there is without doubt that the town was burnt to the ground. The question that Scholars still argument is if the Greek's possessed burnt it down or was it someone else?
