Time And Tide Wait For None Idea Essay

'No the first is so powerful that he is able to stop the march of time' - this is what the saying 'time and tide wait for none of them' means. Although the foundation of this key phrase is not sure, yet it is apparent it has ancient origins and predates modern English. The mere reference to the 'tide' being beyond man's control brings to brain images of Ruler Canute's storyline. He exhibited the limitations of a King's forces by failing woefully to make the sea obey his purchases. The term 'tide' in this key phrase originally didn't imply what the present meaning is - 'the growing and slipping of the sea'. It denoted 'a period of time'. At that time when this expression was coined the term 'tide' meant a season or a period or some time.

This key phrase is also sometimes stated as 'time and tide wait for no man'. Nevertheless, it implies the importance of their time. In literature time has often been known as "Once after a time" and then as the story progresses we learn how time passes, how it involves a standstill, how it flies sometimes and the way the character develops as time goes by. Time was a great professor for King Lear in Shakespeare's play 'King Lear'. His personality goes through a sea-change with passage to time. His tow elder daughters failed the test of time. It had been the youngest one, the reticent Cordelia, who experienced the stormy times and came out a winner in being united with her daddy. But then time was a cruel instructor. Both Lear and Cordelia needed to pay the price of their lives. Time had not waited for these people. How time flies!' they say. Rightly has Ben Hecht said, "Time is a circus always packing up and moving away. "

Time is usually to be cared for as a precious product. It's as important as life itself. What is life? Could it be a mere respiration exercise? How do we identify time? We often make reference to the term 'life span'. Why is a life is not the complete life at one go. Somewhat it includes moments stitched together. We should exist in parts, so to state. Live a whole lifetime in a whole day. Live as if there's no tomorrow. This doesn't mean being allergy. But start enjoying your life, you never will be able to when times change. You never can judge what time has in store for you. Being alive and living is a completely different thing. If you go to accumulating riches hoping that you will indulge yourself, do something for your family and enjoy life 1 day, you are grossly mistaken. When a man dies he'll never wish he'd have spent even more time in any office. Even as say, 'opportunity is here', in the same way, 'time is here now and now'. Time should never be misused. "I misused time and now doth time waste materials me", says Shakespeare in 'Richard II' (Action V, field v).

German Nobel Award Winner, Thomas Mann in his novel 'The Magic Hill' writes: "What is time? It really is a magic formula - without substance yet almighty. " The idea of time has been cured differently in different intervals. In historical Greece time was cured as a circle. Hesoid, the Greek historian of 8th hundred years B. C. divided time into five age groups of mankind, beginning with the golden age group of the faraway former when men resided in peace and continuing upto the modern-day Iron Age where fights and warfare prevail. But in medieval and modern times time has been cared for as a linear process. Saint Augustine in his 'City of God' favoured the linear concept of time and labelled the Greek cyclic time as only superstition.

Time has been mentioned in literature in various ways. Even the mythical and cyclic depiction of time had affected many freelance writers such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez ('One Hundred Years of Solitude'), Octavio Paz (his poem 'Piedra de sol'). Even T. S. Eliot in his poem 'Geronation' gave to us the negative file on real human life just as Paz. According to the linear strategy time can be an irreversible process; in Christianity from Creation to View Day. An illustration of the in literature can be seen in Dante's 'Divine Humor'. William Faulkner, the victor of Nobel Reward Winner in literature in 1949, in his celebrated novel 'The Sound and the Fury' - offers at length the downfall of the wealthy and prosperous family in the southern United States.

We've examples of famous personalities who dreamt big but possessed to accept defeat before time. Essentially the most great example is that of Alexander the fantastic. At his fatality he wanted to show to the people that he was heading empty-handed. This is the realization of a lifetime but it dawned upon him when he was on his death-bed. Time didn't wait for him either. Hitler got imagined ruling over depends upon, but his progress was checked very soon and experienced to commit suicide in the end. They are all examples of human failure before the divine electricity of time. We have to move ahead with enough time to overcome it. Generally what we do is that we move where life will take us. Thus, we allow to be powered by time, and dominate us. If we stand still we will reach nowhere and time won't stop for us, to have us along. Austin Dobson creates:

Time runs, you say? Ah no!

Alas, Time keeps, we go.

Indeed, 'men will come and men may go' but time remains on exactly like 'the brook'. But, again as drinking water is never the same in a moving river, time too never repeats itself. Time once past can't be recalled. How amazingly Omar Khayam places it:

The moving finger writes; and, having writ,

Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit

Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,

Nor all thy Tears wash out a Term of it.

No matter how many discomfort you take, you cannot use the 'undo' command in life and edit again.

Another quality of their time is its uniformity and impartial mother nature. It works at the same tempo for the wealthiest and for the poorest one. An hour means one hour both for a king and a pauper. All are slaves of the time. That which we can do is make the the majority of the time accessible, as the old proverb moves 'make hay as the sun shines'.

We are able to broadly separate time into three categories - recent, present and future. But actually it is indivisible. It's a marvel how soon a former is created. You wink and eyeball and the moment is past. You won't ever find back the time lost by you, there is only going to be tales of previous. Future too is not disclosed to us. We never know very well what will happen. 'There's many a slip between the glass and the lip'. So we ought to live in today's. It is merely in today's that the fact of life is covered. We cannot rely upon either the past or future which is not in front of us. Live life as it unfolds itself before us, that is, in the form of present.

Trust no Future, howe'er pleasurable!

Let the inactive Past bury its deceased!

Act, -- work in the living Present!

Heart within, and God o'erhead!

(H. W. Longfellow in 'A Psalm of Life')

Time doesn't give you chances. You can find no retakes in true to life. Time explains with experience but it has been called the cruelest instructor. Why? Because it never waits and you simply can't change your actions later. Much damage has been induced in the world. Both World Wars have been there. Atom bombs have been fallen on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It felt as if the country of Japan would be demolished, its economy would never have the ability to retrieve. But time didn't come to a standstill. Japan is one of the leading nations of the world. This is because japan didn't wait for the time, alternatively they acted. People lose themselves. Their lives are shattered by the death. Life doesn't seem to be moving ahead. But things change because time doesn't wait for the mourner to get back to life again. Time is a superb healer too. It continues on and on, just like a stream. Indeed, time is the blast of life. Just like the bubbles a lot of people fade, some new ones take their place and the process continues on. Life continues on.

'There is a period and place for everything' corresponding to a vintage proverb. So when opportunity knocks at the door don't turn around. Pick up the offer with both of your hands. Act spontaneously. As soon as you act will be the right time. You never know when the time runs out or the tide converts unfavourable. Time is similar to the sand fast pouring out of the hands. It is merely like the onion being covering after layer and in the long run you find there's nothing remaining in it. It's now or never. So like Henry Wadsworth Longfellow says:

Let us, then be up and doing,

With a heart for any fate;

Still obtaining, still seeking,

Learn to labour also to wait.

TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NO ONE

This is a simple, clear and self-explanatory proverb. This means that time and tide do not wait for anybody. Time continues on passing without caring for anybody and anything. Similarly tides happen ; they have no regard or consideration for anybody. Time and tide symbolise valuable opportunity. They appear without any notice. The essence of the proverb is the fact opportunities do not wait for anyone. No-one can demand or foretell their occurrence

or recurrence. One should be alert and cautious because they happen without any notice. They are generally shortlived and move quickly; No-one can say whether or when they would come again. So you need to be fully prepared to make the best use of an opportunity as and when it presents itself.

Time and tide are natural phenomena. Like other providers of dynamics, they too haven't any consideration and regard for any person. Man cannot change their course. They are simply beyond the control of individual hands. Man discovers himself helpless before them. In ancient times there have been no steamships. There were huge boats prepared with sails. They were called ships. Their starting in the sea was a hard affair, which depended on the tide. The sailors possessed to wait for weeks and sometimes for a few months, because their ships could not sail without the help of a tide. When the tide came up, they sailed their ships away with it. If they missed the opportunity, they had to hold back for the next tide about which there may be no certainty. A tide never waits for any sailor. It really is for the sailor to wait and take benefit of the tide when it comes. It is for the sailors for taking advantage of the tide. If indeed they fail they suffer the results. '

This proverb is a lesson to all of us. It lays focus on the desirability of your preparedness to make the best use of an opportunity that displays itself to us. We ought to, therefore, stay vigilant, because even the slightest carelessness on our part may lead to absent a great opportunity in life leading to colossal loss. In addition, it means that opportunities are exceptional. No one can create them. They come of their own. Those who are ready, have the ability to take benefit of them, but sluggish^ people let them slip.

Time is operating fast. Yesterday won't come again. Even this second when you are reading these lines won't come again. Time is an opportunity. If time won't come again, this means the opportunity will not come again. It really is, therefore, necessary that one should grasp the ability as it comes. Lacking a chance means missing the opportunity permanently, because one will not know whether the opportunity will recur or not. No amount of repentance would make up the loss induced by such failing. Nature is impersonal. It does not matter to it when a certain individual fails to utilize an opportunity made available from it. It really is for this reason aspect of the problem that wise men are always ready to action with full vigour when time comes. They never postpone things.

Suppose a student is to appear in his final assessment in January 1980. He has still many long weeks for research and preparation. In January 1980, he will get an chance to pass the exam in any department he likes. He can put in efforts to help make the best use of the ability and achieve his target. But if he does not put his core into the research or in the event he completely misses this opportunity, he cannot get a potential for passing the assessment in January 1980 in his whole life. It might be that he. passes the assessment later but moving the assessment in January

It is for the sailor to hold back and take advantage of the tide as it pertains. It is for the sailors to take benefit of the tide. If indeed they fail they go through the consequences. 'This proverb is a lesson to all of us. It lays emphasis on the desirability of our own preparedness to help make the best use of a chance that presents itself to us. We should, therefore, continue to be vigilant, because even the slightest carelessness on our part may lead to absent a great opportunity in life leading to colossal loss. It also means that opportunities are rare. No-one can create them. They come of their own. Those who find themselves ready, are able to take benefit of them, but lazy^ people let them slide. Time is working fast. Yesterday won't come again. Even this instant when you are reading these lines will never come again. Time can be an opportunity. If time will not come again, this means the opportunity won't come again. It really is, therefore, necessary that one should grasp the ability as it comes. Absent a chance means missing the chance for ever, because one will not know whether the chance will recur or not. No amount of repentance would compensate the loss brought on by such failing. Aspect is impersonal. No matter to it if the certain individual does not make use of an opportunity made available from it. It is for this reason aspect of the problem that sensible men are always ready to respond with full vigour when time comes. They never postpone things. Suppose a student is to surface in his final evaluation in January 1980. He has still many long weeks for review and prep. In January 1980, he'll get an possibility to pass the examination in any department he likes. They can put in work to make the best use of the opportunity and achieve his aim. But if he will not put his heart and soul into the research or in case he completely misses this opportunity, he cannot get a potential for passing the evaluation in January 1980 in his expereince of living. It might be that he. goes by the assessment later but moving the examination in January 1980 will be an impossibility for him. January 1980 won't await him. Lacking the January 1980 exam will cause an irreparable damage.

Opportunities are rare. Generally they do not repeat. That is why wise people call them golden chances. It is always highly recommended to seize a chance as soon as it occurs, since it may never appear again. Such an opportunity, if availed of, may prove a benefit in one's life and could also spoil one's life if it's missed. Many such circumstances may be cited from everyday routine of many folks. A sensible man, therefore, anxiously waits for a chance and makes the best use of computer as soon as it occurs. Those that miss such opportunities because of their neglect or carelessness have to repent.

There is another aspect of the matter. Time and tide are immune to sentiments of loss or gain to individuals, communities and nations. Altogether disregard of loss or gain to individuals they follow their schedules. There may be no charm against them.

It also flows from the proverb that you need to be firmly punctual and really should do one's work at the proper or appointed time. The habit of'postponing things is bad. Something postponed is generally never done. It also means that one should cultivate the behavior of taking decisions quickly or at the ripe time. Vacillation in this respect may prove disastrous. Many folks have met with failing in life because they would not take decision at the right time. Because of their vacillation the ability slipped out of these hands.

In realization, this proverb teaches us to be very mindful rather than to miss a chance that involves us, because the chance will not await us, and we do not know whether it will come again. If one does not take advantage of one opportunity, he might never get another.

Time and tide wait for none!

"TIME AND tide wait for no man. " This indeed is a well-known proverb. But how many times inside our life have we desired that point was something we could capture in our hands and never let go. When we look back to our former, we accumulate a whole lot of memorable moments which we never need to get over, especially, those cheerfulchildhood days where we were pampered by one and all in our households. Those were the golden days of our lives. In the school days, we thought homework and exams were the hardest things you can ever face. Little did we know that with time, more hardships are bound to come.

In college days and nights deciding on a profession was another Herculean activity. Advices arrived when they are barely required. Everybody acquired a say on our decision making process plus they got the better of us. Then we required a plunge into the vast sea called career. For a few of us, there will be a phase whenever we want to change that a person decision. Alas!, the realization will sink in profound that it's too late to improve our decision. We will recognize that there is no rewind option in the life's clock.

We should realize the value of taking the right decision at the right time. By doing so, we will never repent any decision that we make in life. Procrastination won't enable you to achieve the best things in life. So awaken before it is too overdue. Time might keep dodging us, but we should not get intimidated by it. All you need to do is, become excellent time professionals. Be more sorted out in life & most notably, be time-bound. Lead your daily life is such a way that you run in rate as time passes. Success will follow suit.

In British: Time and tide wait for nobody. --Time is special, once it is past, no person can return back and promise it. Thus everyone should keep an eye on how his time is put in.

In German: Zeit ist Geld. --Time is money. = Time is special. Which means you have to help make the most of it.

Time is the most precious thing for a man as it comes only one time in someone's life and never stays on long. Whether beneficial or unfavorable, time is fully gone once means it never returns just like tide. Thus, the popular proverb moves like "Time and Tide wait for none of them".

It is seen that some individuals miss the bus for some time get away the severe accidents. Furthermore a scientist discovers a valuable finding at a particular point of your energy which he had overlooked by chance means eh might possibly not have got the credit of finding that. Although all these are subject of fate nevertheless time will not wait for anybody. If we neglect to work when time is ripped, we miss the chance and curse our fate for ever. So it is highly recommended to do every just work at a proper time so that you might never repent for the time wasted. Actually, he should wit patiently for the proper and advantageous time, so that success should come easily and time will be utilized best.

In every field time has its importance. If the farmer had not sown the seeds in proper season he'd not get the paddy as thought. In the same way, the overall game of sports one extra minute could also make a difference as throughout that one minute a new player could score a goal against the opposition tem and the overall game would be over with an 1:0 rating in spite of simple draw. To include another example, if a doctor wouldn't normally reach at the right time the patients life will never be saved. Thus, time is very important for each and every work to be completed as required.

In olden days there have been now watches an people i did so their working following a direction of the Sun, even though people were honest and punctual at days past. But today even after countless inventions and a whole lot innovations people used to complain that they don't really have time. Is it that enough time in olden days and nights was long now it is short? Never. Then where is the condition? Actually problem exists with time management. As time lost never returns now people are squandering a lot of time wandering these are exceptional time short, so the complaint. For example when the students have enough time, they waste it in unneeded discussions, love and pupil politics etc. however when examination comes nearer they start learning and complain for time brief as they could not use the time left in a proper manner. Here a expressing comes to mind, "Time is brief, not for leftovers, think your aim and do your very best".

Have we ever before thought of the value of time. If not, then we have to give attention towards it -

To known the value of one calendar year, ask the student who failed.

To know the worthiness of 1 month, ask the mother of a premature baby.

To know the value of one week, ask the editor of any weekly.

To know the value of one day, ask the daily income worker.

To know the worthiness of one minute, ask the traveler who missed the coach.

To know the worthiness of one second, ask the individual who escaped an accident.

Thus, planned management of your energy can provide a person additional time to do what he wishes, improve his supply, improve his decision making, improve his health, improve his efficiency, successfully and effectiveness, make him easier to work with, make him feel more tranquil, minimize the risk he takes and most importantly reduces stress. So following steps should be studied to manage time.

Be punctual about consultations. Speaking with people is okay but too much may become a vice.

Interruptions- Don't' allow any one to disturb you if you are doing an important work.

Relaxation- Leisure is also important, so do free for it.

Avoid overworking- Avoid overworking and try to get started and end the work in program time. Thus, make schedules to do your projects in a successful manner.

Meetings- Plan and prepare for conducting a gathering which can only help in saving time and coping with the topics in an orderly manner.

Squandering time versus valid Downtime- Don't squander time on low goal things at that time set aside for high top priority goals. For instance don't watch television during the review time.

Doing it right the first time- The largest thief of your valuable times is doing a sloppy job when you get down to work. If you are not bothered to do it right the first time, then you will not be encouraged to do it ever.

Procrastination- Overcome these hurdles in the best possible manner. You must prepare and established study goals, visualize the pain, imagine the pleasure and give yourself authorization to procrastinate some things, like supplying an automobile a tuning.

Live and work at steady tempo- Once you get better at the skill of working gradually, you will certainly make the best use of your energy.

If you put these ideas into practice and remember that if riches is lost it can be regained however, not the time, then you'll be the happiest person in the world.

"Never leave till tomorrow what you can do today ? How do you explain this golden maxim ?

One of the numerous weaknesses of which man must be warned is procrastination or postponing things that can be done today till in the future. There exists some natural inertia in man making him lethargic. He understands he must work but he doesn't want to unless he's goaded, frequently leaves things where these are. If it doesn't affect him personally he doesn't action immediately. He'd alternatively bask in idleness. To create him work and react many incentives can be found. Thus we see in business, what is named an incentive bonus. In regular services they can be found increments.

Man has learned that postponing till tomorrow what one can do today is bad. So are there many maxims like 'time and tide await no man'. 'Take time by the forelock'; 'Make hay as the sunshine shines'. These idioms go to show how society realize the worthiness of the time and doing thing in time. For time lost is a reduction permanently and it can't be brought back. Hence the proverb 'procrastination is a thief of your time. '

Time is one factor which is very important, the way more nowadays. Inside the jet-age or the 'Supersonic-age' everything occurs at a swiftness which the ancients could not have dreamed of. A generation or so ago it had taken many days to reach Malaysia from India. Now it is a subject of significantly less than four hours. To keep tempo with the speed with which things move, man also must know how to do something quickly. Suppose one has to fly on the mission or business to a distant place he must be at the airport very early. A wait of even five minutes would start to see the plane taken off and his entire program would be creating a great deal of chain reactions. Suppose a man fails to arrive at the hour he has set for an proposal he would not only lose his face but it may also notify on his future with which his expereince of living is tangled up. The more complex and technical the society expands, the value of energy grows equally serious.

Work falls in arrears, means he has to work harder and even faster the next day. This is found among students who often postpone doing their research and wait for the weekend vacation to come. However when the holiday comes they find it hard to take a seat and do their home work while their friends are participating in outside. The next day they have to think of ways and means to deceive their professors when homework should be handed up.

There is a feeling of fulfillment for those who find themselves punctual and regular in their work. They like a guilt-free conscience. A forcibly true example is the situation of health. If there is any ailment one should focus on it immediately. Some people hide their health problems only to are affected later, when it's too past due. When is regular and punctual it adds to his dignity and brings him tranquility in mind.

It requires guidelines, discipline and can capacity to do one's obligation on hand at the same time. Only if one were to keep an archive of idle time it would be astounding to see the sum total of the time. One must develop the idea of life quoted in the 'Town Blacksmith', 'Something attempted, something done, attained him a night's repose'.
