Have you ever before went on a holiday and never wanted to keep coming back? I traveled to France in June of 2010, and it was the most beautiful place I have ever gone to. I gone with my senior high school French class and we had taken along eighteen students and six people. We visited beautiful villages, towering cathedrals, and majestic palaces. This trip forever changed just how that I view the world, I understood that there is a lot more to the entire world than our country, and this beautiful places await us simply a place ride away.
Our journey started out in our senior high school parking lot where we loaded our hand bags and needed a 4 hour bus ride to Washington D. C. , once in the D. C. air-port we sat in the airport for several hours until it was time for our airplane to commence boarding. We boarded our airplane and got our seats, the journey attendants instructed us on safety precautions and we then waited for our airplane to get started its journey to France. The pilot arrived over the intercom and informed us that people would now get started our ascension. The airplane was soon speeding down the runway, and I was being pushed back into my chair, and then we were in the air, I sensed my stomach lift up as we left the ground and I realized that the next time I step on earth, I would maintain France.
Our plane ride was boring and uneventful, filled up with many movies and upsetting food. We started out our descent and soon landed at the Air port just outside of Paris, though this is not our final vacation spot. We then acquired off of the plane and prolonged to our next plane that would take us in to the south of France, to Nice. We again waited within an airport for a number of time until boarding time, once on the aircraft and up in the air, I realized that France is beautiful, they have picture perfect scenery and farmland as far as I could see. This plane drive would be only one. 5 hours long, only a fraction of the 8 hour flight to access Paris. After we were near Nice, I seemed out the windows and found the most picturesque scenery I had ever seen, We were overlooking the MEDITERRANEAN AND BEYOND, the water was a gorgeous turquoise blue and the sun overcome down onto the water making it shimmer such as a sapphire. Once on the floor and our suitcases retrieved, we received on a bus and drove to your hotel, the hotel was small, but quaint, and it felt like home. Later that day we went to the beach and laid in sunlight and water for hours, after that we travelled shopping throughout the location for souvenirs. We put in three times in Nice, it was a laidback city, and there is very little too do, nonetheless it is still the most amazing place I have ever seen.
After out three days in Nice, we got on another bus, for a fourteen hour bus ride to the city of Tours. When we arrived in Trips we checked into our hotel and I experienced my daily breakfast of orange juice and a croissant. After breakfast we received on another bus and journeyed for one hour to the Loire Valley, where almost all of the castles and palaces are located in France. We first visited the Chteau of Chenonceau, a gorgeous castle situated more than a river. After walking down a long path with high trees lining the street, we emerged at the front end door of an gorgeous white natural stone castle, filled with two backyards, and a hedge maze. After out visit at Chenonceau we went to the Chteau of Chambord, a massive 16th hundred years castle, rumored to be designed be Leonardo da Vinci, this castle as a wonderful double-helix spiral staircase that winds completely up to the rooftop. On the top you can view forest landscapes or study the architecture of the building closer. Once we were done at Chambord we went to the Chartres Cathedral, which is known as one of the finest examples of gothic architecture in all of France. In the cathedral we climbed the countless a huge selection of stairs to the topmost tower, which also provided us with a closer view of the fantastic little bit of structures. The stained goblet windows are Chartres are among the best on the globe, which are known for their vibrant blue color. Upon finding the blue, I was immediately transfixed and strolled around evaluating each window until I done. After going out of Chartres we came back to Travels and got ourselves a much needed night of sleep.
After getting on another bus, we then shifted the walled city of St. Malo. We didn't reach do much in this city as we arrived in the first evening time. During World Battle II almost the entire city was ruined, however the townspeople wanted to rebuild and they does so, they rebuilt it the exact same way as it was originally built, which means this city was essentially built twice.
After our night in St. Malo we journeyed to Normandy. We toured the Normandy museum and then went to the North american Memorial on the beaches. The memorial was extremely psychological, but serene at the same time. While on the beaches I thought the carnage that occurred where I stood. I could not assume that just 70 years before the sand and drinking water was stained red with blood vessels and their were thousands of physiques laying on the beach. WHEN I walked about the memorial I seemed after the cemetery and found the thousands of folks that fought and died on the fateful day. While walking through the cemetery I saw one tombstone with a Jewish superstar on top instead of a mix, I instantly thought a overflow of sentiment, I thought that while Hitler was killing so many Jewish, the Jewish were struggling and dying for the United States, I will permanently remember that image and can always be pleased for what the military have done for us.
We then delivered to St. Malo for another nights sleep and another morning commenced our quest to Paris, the location of lights. When we entered metropolis we immediately went to our hotel and then visited dinner. We had evening meal at Chez Clement, which is located steps from the Arc de Triomphe. After out meal we went in to the Arc and travelled up yet another endless flight of steps until we reached the top. Near the top of the Arc we found a breathtaking view of the Paris, the Eiffel Tower glowing the length, and Parisian nightlife beginning. Every evening on the hour the Eiffel Tower sparkles, a large number of blue lights illuminate and last for just one minute, while at the Arc we observed this. It really is certainly one of the most beautiful things I will ever see. I packed me with delight and at that time I knew i never wanted to leave the country.
During our following day in Paris we went to the Chteau of. First each day we needed a forty minute bus trip to Versailles and started out our travel of the building. The building was the most sophisticated thing I've ever before seen, it was dripping in gleaming yellow metal, and shimmering crystal. The wall surfaces were lined with expensive silks and invaluable tapestries. Although this Palace has a beautiful appearance, it has a dark history. Versailles is the palace where Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV lived, an upset mob descended after the Palace and took the royal family to Paris, where a long time later wiped out them. Even though the building itself was considerable it possessed even bigger more extravagant backyards that stretched kilometers. It includes several fountains which all were working while I was there. While relaxing on the steps enjoying the fountains I thought everyday life here in the 18th hundred years, what it might be like to live there, to walk around the gardens at a leisurely pace and not have a good care on the planet. Versailles is and forever would be the most stunning building I've ever visited. Not just due to its expensive dcor, but also since it is a supreme exemplory case of architecture and an excellent example of traditional French landscapes.
After our stop by at Versailles we went back to Paris and toured the Louvre Museum. In the Louvre Museum we walked through the wonderful glass pyramid and immersed ourselves into a building filled up with gorgeous works of art and abundant with history. The very first thing I wished to go to see was the Winged Victory of Samothrace, it is a second century BC marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike, to me it is one of the very most beautiful sculptures in the complete world, and it surprised me that something so perfect could be created without any modern technology. The only other sculpture that can rival the Winged Victory of Samothrace is the Venus de Milo, which is where I visited next. The Venus de Milo is arguably the most well-known sculpture on the planet, most people can discover the armless body. The Venus de Milo is an excellent example of Greek sculpture at its finest, and will forever influence the earth as we know it. The showcase of my tour of the Louvre is that of the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa coated by Leonardo da Vinci in the early 16th century, it is the most famous painting the in entire world and also one of the very most visited. The Mona Lisa, if you ask me it a fantastic painting, and can forever continue steadily to influence artists around the world, and also continue being a major icon of the world also.
On our last day in France we filled our things and went to the international airport and started out the long and monotonous airline flight home to america. I used to be extremely unsatisfied about going out of and wanted to prolong my stay permanently. I learned very much on my holiday, some of that i would not be able to learn without having to be in the united states, and I hope to return often in the future. Also, the trip provided me a whole new perceptive on the entire world, and taught me to look at the facts in things and not only what they appear to be. From the towns, to the churches, and even the castles, France made you want to learn more about art and structures, and in particular the renaissance works, it also made me recognize that no matter what country your home is in, you can always find a masterpiece.
