Walt Whitman's "Track of Myself": A Mystic's Course of the Self

In the poem "Song of Myself" Walt Whitman identifies himself as greater than a poet, but as a mystic as well. The presenter stresses the spiritual significance of a cathartic personal, unburdened by the programming of population. "Whitman does not use regular meter, but. . . at some factors he appears to slip into a traditional use of stresses and beats. " (Team). The presenter identifies what a mystic's function is while by using a full spectrum of imagery patterns as well as stresses and beats to demonstrate depth of experience to the reader. Whitman's communication is that of a mystic, presenting insight into the inner treasure of knowing of one's personal. The next verse comes after, "My tongue, every atom of my blood vessels, form'd out of this land, this air, Created here of parents delivered here from parents the same, and their parents the same, I, now thirty-seven years old in perfect health begin, Hoping to cease not till death. " The presenter is making a committed action to become increasingly more aware. The speaker uses words from the first line " My tongue, every atom of my bloodstream, form'd out of this land, this air, " to symbolize the connectedness of most things. The next and third lines, "Born here of parents delivered here from parents the same, and their parents the same, " symbolizes the role of man to attain his potential. The next verse follows, "The atmosphere is not really a perfume, it has no preference of the distillation, it is odorless.
